Homework

Each child from Year 1 to Year 5 has a homework book based around the maths that they are learning in class. These books will be sent home with your child weekly. The questions are linked to what they have learnt during the week so they will have knowledge of the topic before they begin.
Homework books will be sent home every Friday and will be collected in on the following Wednesday.
The pages that your child will be expected to complete will be dated and some teachers will mark this with a tab. We start at the beginning of the book. There are a number of pages for each week so please remember to turn the page. Basically, you need to complete all the questions until you reach a page that has a blank date on the top of the page.
The pages get progressively harder, so if your child is struggling, get them to complete at least the first page and then judge whether they can move onto the next page. As always, if you are concerned about anything regarding homework, please do speak to your class teacher.
The children will then have their work marked (in some classes it will be marked as a class) and returned every Friday.
Reading
As always, we expect the children to continue their reading at home. Please make sure you are recording your children’s reading in their reading record. Reading is such an important part of the curriculum and makes a huge difference to your child’s learning.
Online Safety and Behaviour expectations
It is vitally important that you and your family ensure that your child is safe whilst working online. Please see our E-Safety policy that is available under the ‘Our School’ section of our website. We have also sent an ‘ICT agreement’ via SchoolPing that you need to read and complete with your child. Please indicate via SchoolPing when you have agreed to the terms on the document.

Children in KS2 have access to TT Rock Stars which is a programme designed to support children in practising their times tables. Your child will be given their own username and password.
